Fire and Life Safety Inspections

The Fire Department conducts periodic inspections on selected commercial occupancies to check for compliance with fire prevention codes. They are considered maintenance inspections to ensure that exits, fire sprinklers, fire alarm systems, exit signs/lighting are being maintained in good working order. These inspections are done either by the Fire Inspector or assigned to the nearest engine company.

Pre-fire plan inspections are done by the engine companies for the sole purpose of allowing the firefighters to familiarize themselves with the structural and operational aspects of various occupancies to which they may respond.

Investigation of fires to determine origin and cause. We use this data to direct our fire inspection and public education programs to help minimize the fire loss in our community.
